The Message by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five was released as a single by Sugar Hill Records on July 1, 1982. For its 40th anniversary, here's a mashup with the Gorillaz instrumental of Dirty Harry, with clear influences from "The Message" and early hip-hop. Same key, similar tempo and synth sounds, it was pretty obvious to me !
