I came up with this mashup well into the production of SHOCK WAV, after I had already established that I'd be really honing in on showcasing some classics from the 90s and early 2000s. However, there was one specific genre that wasn't really represented yet on the album: Drum and Bass. And personally, it's not a genre I knew much about. So I did some research into classics of the genre, and came across the Origin Unknown track. (It's also worth noting that Wikipedia classifies the track as Jungle... the more you know 🌟) Regardless, it was the perfect instrumentation for Billie and Dave's vocals. Fun fact... it was actually a happy accident that both All My Life and You Should See Me in a Crown use the lyrical phrase "one by one" - something I realized well into the mashing process lol. Once that dawned on me, I really tried to play up the lyrical match, and ultimately decided to name the mashup ONE BY ONE.
