Since my first album, CULTURE SHOCK, I've always done an Introduction track. I don't know why, perhaps for the *DRAMA* but it's something I wanted to continue doing. Just like anyone else with taste, the second I heard Corvad's Tesla in THE BATMAN soundtrack, I was obsessed. I instantly knew I had to use it in a mashup. I thought it was the perfect album opening vibe for SHOCK WAV. Originally, this track was simply titled INTRODUCTION, just like all of the opening tracks from my past albums. However, I really wanted to lean into the retro computing vibes, so I changed the title to SOURCE CODE. Then I stumbled upon the Delia Derbyshire interview audio on TikTok. The way she discusses shaping sounds was the perfect metaphor for mashups. Plus, she's a legend.
