🎶 EVERYTHING SPEAKS
- Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place
- No Doubt – Don't Speak
I'll admit: I have never fully explored Radiohead's discography. I happened to hear Everything in It's Right Place in a movie recently, and was instantly obsessed. There are a lot of interesting things, musically, happening in that track, including an unusual time signature, and a perplexing key change / chord progression. Finding a vocal that would fit over this instrumentation was a challenge. But I think I found a winner in No Doubt's classic Don't Speak. This moody opener brings together Thom Yorke’s meditative repetition and Gwen’s emotional wails, resulting in what feels like an unexpected therapy session on the dancefloor. Welcome to SHOCK WAV: HIDDEN FILES!
