I was gonna do an extended mix of "Dance Hall Days" but really, what more is there to do to an already perfect track, IMO. I Figured I'd do a remix of it. Ended up Mashing two of my pop favorites. I was surprised that no one has done this Mashup, until now. I can see how it would be challenging. No good instrumental of D.H.D. out there and a clean acapella for "Humpty Dance" isn't out there, either. Ended up making my own of both. Glad I did. The original beat for D.H.D. was mastered terribly and sounded neutered. I pumped up the bass and used a bit from the "BodyAlive" remix for the guitar refrain. Unfortunately, I couldn't get make a clean acapella of "Humpty Dance" so this'll have to do.
It was interesting, trying to make these two vibes work together. "Dance Hall days" has a more emotional vibe and "Humpty Dance" is just a funny upbeat track. You can really feel this when it goes from the last verse of "Dance Hall Days" so I decided to play on that. It's like the track lulls you into this feeling of realization that "she needs you" and Bam!, back into the dance. I also used the "69" phrase instead of "play upon her darkest fears" to pull you out of the emotion and get "stupid". Hopefully my filtering skills made this Mashup listenable. Had to do a lot to get this one right. Even had to pitch up the "Humpty Dance" a couple of half-steps to sound right. I just want everyone to "stop what they're doing" and get down to these two groovy classics.
