Winner of ToTom's Crumplbanger Challenge, and I took it to church, but a humanist/atheist one, and created a atheistic gospel/country song, contrasting Lady Gaga's faith/loss of faith in someone vs Clannad's criticism of that search and the fact that others lie, (including I'd say the Church, the State and others).
Though although more I listen to it - and if you hear the latest podcast you'll know why Clannad and Ireland - I realise how personal this is. That happens a lot in my mashups, and art - I make the thing then realise why I made it.
I am searching for something to believe in, some connection, some history to anchor me in the storm. NOT faith, but in other ways, and like this mashup states, I see very little to believe in out there among the lies and the desperate need for something in so many which often evaporates like the mist in the cover image, it's very nebulous (you see the imagery isn't random, codes and ciphers, always). Also Clannad was an important band I loved in my youth.
I will admit I am not totally sure of this, but given the not so great acappella extraction (tried a few times( and the folky wavering at the start, but I think this is as good as it will get for now.
