The idea for this eclectic mashup came to me when a friend recently introduced me to a pop song I'd never heard before, Lizzo's "Juice", which immediately reminded me of numerous other songs I knew. All of them are in the key of D (hence the name of this piece) and follow similar chord progressions, even though their genres and release dates are wildly divergent. From Boyz II Men's new jack swing beats to Metallica's distorted guitars to Chicago's energetic horn section, this twenty-minute-long extravaganza is like an all-you-can-listen buffet!
